Visited on 12/30/2025 while on a trip up to Salem, MA from Florida. Hands down the best Seafood I've had yet (and I'm from Florida), the New England style clam chowder is truly the best. During our dining experience the owner of the restaurant actually stepped over to our table to chat and ask how we liked everything, she was extremely welcoming and even told us some history on the restaurant. This is a family owned small business. They do have non-seafood options but I highly recommend to try the clam chowder! The building and atmosphere is wonderful, very homey and chill!
Having moved to the area recently, so many people recommended Turner’s, and after eating there, we can definitely see why. You can smell how good your food is going to be as soon as you step in the door - there is something for everyone on the menu and it is literally all life-changing. We ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl (best we’ve ever had), linguine with clams, and shrimp scampi. Everything was cooked to perfection and surprisingly affordable for the greater Boston area. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was also incredible. Service was lovely and the fireplace felt amazing on a zero degree night in January. The location is right downtown in an easy to access area and the twinkle lights provide a cozy glow. Highly recommend and can’t wait to be back!
I'm not a seafood eater at all, so I got the chicken piccata, a garden salad and bread loaf. Everything was excellent. Harrison, our server was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect. My wife got the fish and chips, which she enjoyed and brought home enough food for two more meals. It was our daughter's birthday. She got the Fra Diavlo seafood plate, which is her favorite. She also brought enough home for another meal. She got a complimentary chocolate torte for her birthday, which was delicious. We will definitely be back.
We had a family emergency and needed a nice place for us to have dinner with out of town relatives! What a great choice we made! Turners is such a beautiful restaurant! We sat by one of the fireplaces! The restaurant could not have been busier but we were seated promptly and waited on immediately! Service, ambience and food were superb! Everyone loved their dinners! We shared appetizers and the fried calamari was delish! People loved baked haddock, haddock piccata, special Beef Wellington and lazy man lobster ! Parking can be tricky but public lot is next door and usually available spaces can be found. For dessert, people liked ice cream sundaes and sticky toffee pudding. I advise reservations. They turned away a dozen people while I was at front desk! One of my fave North Shore spots!
Today was a Good day to be in Salem Massachusetts. We even got snow flakes for my 43rd birthday weekend. The food and the service here is always Top notch every single time I come here. Bartenders Katie and Tina did an absolutely amazing job. Absolutely Marvelous my dears. The Birthday Dessert on Top of it was the icing on the cake making this birthday weekend a 10 like this restaurant 10 stars I will always come back here and I recommend this place to anyone Shane says sooo
Neat New England style seafood bar... without the bar. Ok, the bar is being renovated so it's got plastic up to keep construction dust out of the restaurant. With all that, they did a great job of keeping the place clean and the food was great. We started with lobster bisque. Try it - it's phenomenal!! The food smelled so good, we started eating before I took the pic...so know u will get more fish and another stuffed shrimp! I had the Hake Marsala and it was a very tasty whitefish - but kinda light on the marsala. My wife had the stuffed shrimp and they were food, but after the lobster bisque, we were expecting better. Portions were huge and the drinks were pricey, but very strong and filled the glasses! Overall, it's a very good option in a town filled with similar restaurants.
This was our first meal on our recent vacation leading up to Halloween in Salem. Both the wife and I decided to step out of our comfort zones and try a bunch of new food. I ordered a carb cake appetizer to kick this off and she tried some Clam Chowda (gotta have the accent ). We shared both and both ended up being well above expectations and both made it on to our new favorite food list. For the mains I went with the pasta special and the Mrs decided to try a lobsta roll (sorry she was on such a roll with the accent I can't leave it out). My pasta was an 11 out of 10! I've never had swordfish before and the pieces in the pasta were pretty tasty. No the Mrs learned she is not a fan of lobster warm (she's tried before) or cold in this instance so being the nice guy I am we switched. I didn't think the lobster roll was bad even though lobster is not high on my list of favorite foods. The service was fantastic even with the busy time of day and packed house. The place is very clean and to me gives an upscale relaxed vibe. I would definitely go back if I ever end up in Salem again!
